CENSUS 2020 Materials to Share

On 1/14/2020 the CFLCA General Membership meeting included a presentation on Census 2020 by Jaqueline H. Arroyo, Partnership Specialist – Broward County, U.S. Census Bureau, Atlanta Regional Census Center

Ms. Arroyo closed by reminding members the importance of Census 2020 participation.  An example of language to use on Social Media is noted at the end of this post.

The City of Fort Lauderdale Public Works Water and Wastewater Operations Section consists of the Distribution and Collection Division responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the water distribution, wastewater collection, and pumping system. The Treatment Division provides our neighbors with safe and efficient water treatment, water production, and wastewater treatment and disposal. Additionally, the Division’s Environmental Laboratory, accredited through the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Certification, provides sampling and testing services to the City and its large users 365 days a year.

Vacation Rentals

The City regularly updates the Vacation Rental reports for all districts.  The City website lists registered properties by district and enforcement cases by district.  Please send all complaints regarding any suspected illegal operation of vacation rentals to [email protected]. Please include the property address and supporting photos or documentation to validate your complaint.

 NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION

Please take notice that a Special Election will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the CFLCA General Meeting occurring at 6:30pm in the 8th Floor conference room of the Fort Lauderdale City Hall.

OFFICER POSITION:  Treasurer

TERM: Balance of existing term April 2019 ending March 2021

DESCRIPTION: 

The Treasurer shall maintain financial records, collect dues and assessments, and pay all monies owed by The Council.  The treasurer is responsible for establishing, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting to the Council on the electronic payment processing system. The treasurer shall transmit application/renewal forms which accompany dues to the Membership Committee chair.

Candidate shall attend and provide report at 1 board meeting per month and 1 general membership meeting per month.  Candidate must be proficient in online banking and use of PayPal.  Candidate must be from a member association in good standing.

 

OFFICER POSITION:  Second Vice President

TERM: Balance of existing term April 2019 ending March 2021

DESCRIPTION: 

 The Second Vice President shall act as President in all duties if the President and the First Vice President are absent or are unable to act. Responsibilities include coordination of refreshments at general meetings and events.

Candidate must be well organized and physically able to participate in setup and breakdown of general meetings and food service.  Candidate must be from a member association in good standing.


Transportation Planning Svcs. Update 10.15.2019 Presented at Commission Conference Meeting

CFLCA hosted a Special Meeting in the Summer of 2019 on the matter of the then proposed ILA with Broward MPO.  Subsequently CFLCA issued two statements on the topic.

Attached is  the presentation given by Ben Rogers during the Commission Conference Meeting on 10/15/2019 which aimed to address some of what was raised via CFLCA efforts and educated the Commission on the matter.  The presentation was given in advance of the Commission vote to move forward with the proposal.

DO YOU NEED MORE SUN TROLLEY STOPS OR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?

On 9/10/2019 at the CFLCA General Meeting neighbor feedback was collected. Residents in attendance from Rock Island and River Gardens/Sweeting Estates indicated an interest in additional trolley stops/public transportation.

If your neighborhood would like to request additional trolley stops/public transportation please contact Robyn Chiarelli so she can arrange a meeting with your Association to fully understand your needs and to discuss if/how Downtown Fort Lauderdale Transportation Management Association may be able to fulfill them.

Downtown Fort Lauderdale Transportation Management Association compiles route / stop requests and brings them forward to the City and TMA Board for consideration in the case that multiple people or groups come forward with the same request.
