The Council of Fort Lauderdale Civic Associations (“CFLCA”) was formed in 1980. The purpose of the Council is to focus on the issues relating to preservation of the present and future welfare of the City of Fort Lauderdale and its neighborhoods and citizens, be proactive and reactive to those issues, communicate any recommendations to the proper authorities, strive to ever improve communication and create a stronger partnership between City Government and the neighborhoods. CFLCA is a coalition primarily of residential Civic and Homeowner Associations recognized by the City of Fort Lauderdale. The business of the Council is directed by an 11-member board that also represent their residential neighborhood associations. All 4 city districts are represented on the Council Board. There are over 60 neighborhood associations recognized by the City of Fort Lauderdale with eligibility to be voting members of the Council.
The sponsorship program allows local businesses to be non-voting members of the Council, while contributing to the work of the Council and its goals.

The Membership Committee will evaluate every sponsorship application and will determine approval status.
