Workshop on Florida East Coast (FEC) Railway Crossings Study

Dear Community Member,

The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) invites you to participate in a hybrid Public Workshop to learn about and discuss plans to convert the existing at-grade crossing on the Florida East Coast (FEC) Railway into an underpass on East Sunrise Boulevard and North Flagler Drive in Fort Lauderdale.

Your voice is essential as we explore ways to enhance connectivity and support long‑term community growth.

About the Study

The proposed effort will examine the feasibility of constructing five roadway–railroad underpasses with the goal of:

Improving mobility and accessibility

Increasing travel options and modal choice

Creating new and active transportation connections

Identifying opportunities for infrastructure hardening

Preparing the region for future growth and economic development

This workshop is being offered online and in-person and provides the opportunity to review the study’s purpose, ask questions, and share your feedback on potential solutions.

We hope you will join us and help shape the future of mobility in our community.

Please feel free to share the attached invitation with your neighbors and community partners. We look forward to seeing you there!
